Calling all arm-chair travelers. Psst, you don’t have to be; Mexico is open for business. You don’t even need a covid test as you do for Hawaii. A written declaration of health will suffice. But please bring your own pen, flight attendants are even less willing to share theirs these days.
Mexico is one of the few places welcoming Americans right now. Their beaches are gorgeous and I absolutely love Mexico City. So go, if you think that’s a good idea. But if you don’t, you can come with me.
This is a 2 part post. Part 1: Cancun! (and a little Puerto Vallarta)

Ladies, you know how we obsess about our weight and berate ourselves when we inch toward our fat jeans? Well, stop! I’m here to report that the most beautiful woman on the beach on my layover in Cancun was NOT a size 4. She was a curvaceous, big Woman, with a capital W and I’ve never seen anything like her.
Keep in mind that I’ve spent a lot of time on the beach. I spend my winters actively avoiding snow, and somehow, I’m always in the middle of every college spring break. So, I have seen my share of bodies, more specifically, my share of hot, gorgeous bodies. Just last week, I saw two families of what must have been trapeze artists vacationing together. Everyone was so impossibly perfect and toned.
But never have I witnessed anything like this woman in Cancun. She had the most enormous rear-end I have ever seen in the natural world, only to be matched by her gigantic boobs. Round, firm, sitting up high, Huge! Did I mention that she was sunbathing topless and nearly bottomless? It was a family beach, so for modesty sake, she laid a little flower over each nipple, which, of course, fell off whenever she stood up.
Equally fascinating was watching everyone’s reaction to her. People literally turned their chaise lounges to face her. Two kids came to toss a ball in front of her. Of course, they couldn’t catch anything. The boy would look at her, pick up the ball, look back at her, throw, and miss. Then his sister would repeat the same series of actions: look, toss, look, miss, look. Every waiter and vendor on the beach was drawn to her like a magnet. “Hola, pretty lady, do you want a …whatever”
Watching her, I realized that not only was her body truly a marvel, but her allure was sealed by her confidence. She was completely at ease in her sun-kissed skin. She stood up, she sat down, she walked around, she sipped her cocktail. Surely she knew every gaze behind every pair of sunglasses was directed at her. But, she didn’t care. She wasn’t performing and she wasn’t hiding. She was natural, unaffected, and supremely comfortable.
Later that day, I saw her in the elevator with her clothes on. She just looked like an average “over-weight” girl. But by then I knew better. There was nothing average about her. This “over-weight” woman had made all the thin women on the beach that day look boring.
Ladies, we may be able to eat, or rather not eat, our way to a size 4, and work out to get into those skinny jeans, but why bother? I mean, I’ll admit, she had a beautiful body, but it was her confidence that I really admired and what I’d much rather strive towards than some unattainable (and flawed) standard of beauty.
Oh, and here’s Cancun!

I just had my first Puerto Vallarta layover. It was lovely, but I must admit that I prefer Cancun… the turquoise water, the sugar-fine sand, the wild life, and the cenotes! (underground, pristine waterholes where you can swim and even scuba dive) But what really tips the scale in favor of Cancun are the ancient Mayan sites of Tulum and Chichen Itza.

BUT consider…

Beautiful!
Confidence is something we all strive for and usually fall short of achieving. It is a marvel when we see it in reality! Gotta keep trying.
TY for illuminating her light!
Isn’t that what we all strive for, the confidence to be who we really are, not trying to please others with what we think they might like, just letting our inner light shine through brighter than all the makeup, heels, hose, and brand names.
BE true to YOU and those who matter most will appreciate your light!
