That’s the name of Chelsea Handler’s comedy tour which I went to see last night. She, along with her opening act, were super funny. Chelsea did about an hour of her typical irreverent, political, and raunchy material. One of her biggest laughs was a bit about “these poor flight attendants,” which I found particularly enjoyable.
Flight attendants are normally the butt of the joke. We’re usually an easy target for comedians to ridicule and make fun of. But last night, Chelsea turned the punchline around and targeted the public. Not all of the public, just the ones who have been in the news lately: the passengers caught on camera assaulting flight attendants. She somehow made these current events funny, and the audience clapped for a long time for “these poor flight attendants.”
Ever since this pandemic started, people have asked me, “What’s it like flying right now?” And lately, people want to know if I’ve had any badly behaved passengers. Yes, of course, I have! But the assholes are always the exception. Mostly, I have noticed that people have been nicer to us lately. They have been looking me in the eye, thanking me, and a few have even come bearing gifts. Most passengers comply when I remind them to put back on their masks, even if I know they disagree with it. They may roll their eyes, but they do it. No one wants to be that asshole to the poor beleaguered flight attendant. Our popularity is soaring right now. I know it won’t last. It wore off after 9/11 too. But for now, I’m enjoying the good manners. (and the gifts)
As our high school physics teacher taught us: To every Action, there is always an equal Reaction.
Or… go to jail, and do not pass go!

Enjoy it! I remember talking about that surge in popularity after 911. You ladies and gents of the sky are angels to all of us jet setters. I’m on my way home to MKE and watching this junior FA read from a script! #rookieoftheyear
Hallelujah to good manners!
Sometimes it seems like “everyone” has forgotten how important they are.
But it’s only because the news keeps focusing on what is wrong in the world.
This is my opinion:
Stop watching the “news” and look around.
Then the “assholes” won’t be as obvious!
